Projects

This page is dedicated to our own projects. A great resource of experiences, some more successful than others, to grow understanding to the context and background of our work.

Home 05

Lagoa de Albufeira, Sesimbra, Portugal

Our fifth home is a family hub to create unforgettable moments together, close to the beach, lagoon, and various natural parks of Sesimbra. The building and garden were designed to be nature-inclusive, with various strategies to make them more sustainable in construction, footprint, performance, use, and maintenance, while being welcoming to local species.

Home 04

Scheveningen, Den Haag, The Netherlands

Our fourth house is a cosy and very functional apartment. Designed as a tiny house, where we took the step to declutter and live the motto "less is more". We did apply some interesting strategies, but a deeper renovation is yet to come, as the process is far more complex and dependant on others, not all as passionate about sustainability as we are.

Home 03

Stervoorde, Rijswijk, The Netherlands

Our third house was a single-family house with a front, back and side garden (T6). With a royal living area of 175 m2, and a spacious plot of 341 m2. The house was built in 1973 and we upgraded it, from an energy label F to A+++. We implemented various strategies to the building and the garden, evidencing that existing buildings can become energy efficient and climate-proof.

Home 02

Mensfort, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Our second home was a single-family house with a front and back garden (T5). Built-in 1958, it has a living area of 160 m2 and was certified with the energy label E. In this home, we still kept the most, including the characteristic steel windows, but we also did some improvements, and many interesting experiments as the repurposing of demolition materials from the building and local warehouses. Today, the house has been further renovated and expanded, but some strategies were still kept.

Home 01

Rapenland, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Our first home was a cosy and functional apartment (T3). It was full of light due to the large windows, two balconies, and wooden partition walls with upper windows. Built-in 1963, it has a living area of 72 m2 and was certified with energy label E. When we started our lives together, the budget was minimal, so we kept our ambitions for the renovation low, maximising the use of the existing building and facilities.
