Omroep West
2017
In Rijswijk the Roders family has no longer a gas connection at the Ds Van den Boschlaan. Councilor Marloes Borsboom has turned off the tap. Only sustainable energy is used.
The house has been extensively renovated. According to owner Martin Roders, the house is thoroughly insulated. The frames have triple glazing. The house is heated by a heat pump, which extracts heat from the outside air. Furthermore, the power for the heat pump is generated by solar panels. The shower water is also used to generate heat.
Councilor Marloes Borsboom hopes that other people will also renovate their homes in the same way, because it has been agreed that by 2050 the Netherlands will no longer be dependent on natural gas.
